More on the spending bill-

-which is approaching $$1 trillion.

We tend not to grasp the magnitude of that number. I can help there. Let's write it out long ways:

$1,000,000,000,000

That's literally a million millions. Enough to make a million people millionaires. Or maybe a more appropriate way to look at it is that's enough debt to bankrupt a million millionaires. It's 1 million dollars- SQUARED.

Divided evenly amongst 300 million Americans you get $3333 each. That's BO's plan to help the economy. For each of you and each of your kids, to give three grand to government programs.
No wait- 3 grand, plus interest.

Is he stupid or evil?

Let's all send $3,333.33 to the spending bill and the debt will be gone!

I would say both. Stupid and evil.

Mind boggling really. You know, if we just cut our government programs drastically (I mean DRASTICALLY, no unnecessary spending, govt. jobs, research (really, who cares about the Amazonian Tiny Treebark Mite?) slash entitlements, cut, cut, cut, cut, CUT!! And we would all have more money in our pockets every week, so we wouldn't need a "bailout". (Except for the millions laid-off by the government, but there would be jobs created for them as people with more money left over by the end of the week were able to launch businesses of their own, especially with the new lower tax rates we would be seeing with the decreased need for the government to take our money.)

John, I know you're into space exploration and all that, so I'm wondering...what do you think about just completely scrapping NASA? Who needs it? What good has come from going to the moon and Mars and taking pictures of space? Sure it's really neat, but couldn't we just blow all that money on something more worthwhile? What have we learned from our space escapades that's of any use at all on earth?

I don't even know how much money we blow on outer space, but it's got to be a significant amount.

Eyepoke said...

Yeah, you are right Brad. I dig the fact that we have been to the moon, but we have hungry people down here and it was radically expensive.

Really I cant think of any justifiable reason for space exploration except it's so freakin cool.

I think NASA's days are numbered, and privately funded space exploration will put them out of business. There's some very good work going on now in the private sector, powered by "Space Tourism"... I am hoping that in another 30 years (i'll be 65) that a rich person will be able to buy a ticket to the moon, and that I'll be a rich person.

But you are right- there is really no reason to go to mars except that it's realy realy cool.

Hi! I found your blog because I had bookmarked the page that made fun of Alton, IL however today it changed into a rather strange blog about this Brad Carter man. I had thought that John Sever might have been a forgotten 80's metal hero, but it seems that this is not the case.
I do have a question after reading some of your previous posts however, why do you always have to seem so jaded and scathing? You always seem to disapprove of how the country is run (though I do give you mad props for actually trying to offer solutions, it's very Obama-like :3) and never seem to talk about anything positive. Do you really think that all this worrying and complaining can be good for you? You should try to be more happy and be thankful to Allah (the one and only true God) that we have a miraculous leader in the form of Barrack Hussein Obama, who is the best president ever, even better than George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

I enjoyed reading your blog, and hope that you may answer my question. May Allah wish peace be upon you and Obama.

Obamafan99 - ROFL! You're great.

he's always complaining and scathing because he's a bitter man. just kidding, he's my husband, and he's not always that way, you should read a little more; he's actually quite silly. in politics he's that way because he's passionate, and not in favor on iota of our current president, for many reasons. and he's not obama-like; he offers intelligent solutions, not a bunch of things that look flashy but actually hurt far more than help. and may God bless you too, man.

It was funny awhile back John was talking about his Mom feeling better, but he was not sure how better because she had a bad habit of being "too optimistic"! What? There's really no such thing in my book ;)

Well because you thought my apology was another trolling attempt, and that made me mad. But you know what? You just showed me you can be cool, so I'll leave you alone for reals this time. This is the Internet, there has to be OTHER people to annoy. :3 :P

Obama compared to Lincoln?! Good greif. Yeah like the Hindenburg compared to Air Force One.

I think you should add "other" to your Obama poll. I don't think he's evil or "dumb" just misguided by liberal politics and indoctrinated by the liberal teachings he probably received all his life.

Hmmm. T-dog, wouldn't "misguided by liberal politics and indoctrinated by the liberal teachings he probably received all his life" basically just amount to dumb though? At some point in your life you have to start thinking for yourself rather than just buying into whatever it is you have been steeped in all your life.

it would make you ignorant not dumb. dumb implies a lack of intelligence. we may find out that the reeducation he is getting now may correct some of his problems. he will have to compleetly screw every thing up in order to finally see that he is wrong so we are pretty much screwed no matter what.

Bruce said...

btw, my oldest child says that she saw an oboma sign in your parents yard and that your mother told her she voted for him. when asked why the answer was "i just think i like him."

Anonymous said...

I disagree. Ignorant is just a lack of info, Dumb is a lack of processing power. Beliveing something just cause that's what everyone around you belives imply a lack of brains not a lack of data.

My parents! I think Im going to go Count of Monte Cristo on them.

Count of Monte Cristo on them? Huh?

Bruce said...

that is kinda what i am saying J. all the info he has to this point is wrong. he should be getting some new data now. lets see how long, if ever, it takes him to process it.
think we could get brad to do the monte cristo for us. he lives far away. no one will suspect him. oh wate, i forgot he is already a merder suspect. have to think of some one else.

I have a calculator. It only goes up to 99,999,999,999. 10x smaller than BO's lack of ideas bill.

"Lack of Ideas" bill. I like it.
