Maybe it should have been "sorrow is better than obnoxious laughter, like when someone falls and you laugh instead of feeling bad for them".
Yeah I suppose. Thanks for the thought. For me its yet another thingoid to throw on the pile of things not to lose sleep over. (Note that I posted this in the middle of the night last night...hmmm)J
but its funny when people fall down. and i saw a sign some one altered from "laughter is the best medicine" to "Slaughter is the best medicine" i thought that was funny too.
it think is means that sorrow helps us appreciate joy so it often serves more purpose than mere laughter...still it reads like a lame fortune cookie. :)after all is was probably written by solomon who was the wisest man ever to live yet still turned and worshipped false idols in the end... also he's the guy that tried to woo women by saying their hair looked like a flock of goats or some such nonsense...
Is everyone familiar with the dialogue between Huck Finn and Jim about Solomon? I will have to post it- hilarious! As a personal opinion, I do think that Solomon's writing have to be taken in context of : " This was written by a miserable person- try not to wind up like him""Slaughter is the best medicine" very funny!
